Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin says his team has the dirtest stadium in the NFL.
Tomlin, speaking at a news conference Monday, said the team will try to play in the best possible stadium for the fans.
“I think this is the worst place for us to be at the moment,” Tomlin said.
“It’s not really the best venue.
We are not playing here.
This is the dirt.
It’s really bad.”
He said he was not talking about the stadium’s turf but the turf that sits beneath it.
“The turf is going to be very slippery,” Tomlins said.
He then pointed to the concrete bowl of the stadium, which has been dubbed the “panda bowl.”
“That’s the dirt,” he said.
Tomlins also mentioned the fact that fans have complained about fans standing in the middle of the field and making noise.
This is a stadium that’s been in operation for almost three decades, and it’s still a problem,” Tomls said.
